Mental health is nothing but psychological well being.

  • Its illness includes various behavioural changes,unusual mood changes,depression,anxiety,panic attacks and various other symptoms like increased heart rate and changes in body temperature.

Most of the psychological issues are due to decline in neurological /cognitive function of the brain.

Major cause-Prolonged sadness/stress.

What is cognitive health??

Cognitive health is the health of brain and its functions which include ability to learn, ability to accept, judgement,memory etc.

 

When there is a decline in the cognitive function and impairment of neurological functions in certain affected areas of brain ,it leads to mental illness resulting in :

  • Decreased cognitive functions like- judgement, memory, ability to learn and understand.

  • Decreased patience.

  • Decreased acceptance.

  • Emotional instability.

  • Lack of self confidence.

Mental health/Neurological brain health/cognitive function of the brain can be improved by :

  • Meeting new people and interacting with them{NON-DIGITAL,SOCIAL MEDIA}

  • Exploring new places .

  • Experiencing new cultures and traditions.

  • Learning new things-it could be language,history,dance,cooking ,reading,writing!! and the options are endless.

  • Being present-Being mindful -when we are in a new place or with new people we tend to be conscious and present as a natural tendency.

  • Nature-Fresh air, sounds f birds, waves ,breeze, music.

  • Sleep-during deep sleep our brain waves are in Delta state,which is a deep space and helps in pain relief.

  • Yoga-it lowers stress levels and boosts brain function.

  • Meditation-during meditation, frequency of brain waves is in Alpha state. Alpha state is a state of focus and creativity.It helps in boosting serotonin (which functions as neurotransmitter and happy hormone).

  • Massage- Massage is one of the best way to reach Theta state of mind. State of Inner peace and Healing .
